




In the late 70s, Cailan, a location at the famous Halong Bay with a deep water port was selected by the Government of Vietnam to be the site for the first flour milling complex in North Vietnam. With the assistance of the then USSR Government, a team of Russian and Vietnamese experts started the project. A complete flour milling line was imported to Vietnam. A large quantity of rocks and soils was removed to prepare for the project site, which is now Cailan Industrial Zone, Halong City, Quangninh Province. Regrettably, the project was later suspended and then abandoned due to dire economic situation of Vietnam during the period.
